Available in March 2014, this highly-anticipated SUMO sized book from Taschen celebrates the incredible photographic career of Annie Leibovitz.
The project, which took several years to develop, draws on over 40 years of work starting with the viscerally intimate reportage she created for Rolling Stone magazine in the 1970s and extends through the more stylized portraiture she has done for Vanity Fair and Vogue.
Two editions will be available including the Collector’s Edition ($2,500) with four different dust jackets (Whoopi Goldberg, Keith Haring, David Byrne and Patti Smith) as well as the leather bound Art Edition with a limited run of 1,000 units that comes with a fine art print, signed by Leibovitz ($5,000). Both editions are 476 pages, sized at 19.7″ x 27.2″ and include a stand for display that was designed by Marc Newson.
With work that is stylistically wide-ranging and immediately recognizable as Leibovitz, these SUMO editions are sure to be quite popular and will hopefully be followed by a more accessibly priced volume.
