As a replacement for Big Smoke 40, Duncan Taylor introduces Big Smoke 46 which together with the higher strength Big Smoke 60, uses non-chill filtration to achieve a more natural and authentic result.
This traditional Islay blend features iodine medicinal notes, peaty phenolic aromas and dry smoke that result in a bold and complex whisky that contains the likes of Caol Ila, Bruichladdich and Bowmore.
- Colour: White wine
- Nose: Antiseptic cream, salted butter on toast, distant driftwood bonfires, meringues, peaches and strawberries.
- Palate: Cool and minty, smoke and soft charcoal, currant buns and icing sugar.
- Finish: Crisp and clean with growing oily saltiness and dry smoke, wet grass and a touch of leather.
