TAG Heuer watches are, without doubt, one of the most recognisable and sought after sports watches on the market and Formula 1 motor racing is one of the most adrenaline soaked and action packed sports on the planet – so, when the two intermingle, a great deal of interest is naturally generated.
TAG Heuer, have many models to choose from (such as the unparalleled Carrera collection, classic Monaco collection and the ever-popular Aquaracer) but it is their Formula 1 collection which has truly captured the imagination of speed-freaks due to its contemporary styling and sleek design. The fact that the likes of champion driver Lewis Hamilton can regularly be seen sporting TAG Heuer watches probably helps as well.
The Formula 1 collection first came into being in 1986 and was the first collection from the luxury Swiss watchmaker to be created following their takeover which saw them renamed from Heuer to TAG Heuer. The Formula 1 collection sold over 3 million timepieces between their inception in 1986 and 2000 when the collection was discontinued. TAG Heuer soon realised the error of their ways and reinstated the highly striking collection in 2004 at which time they overhauled their Formula 1 watches and created an more expansive range.
The collection is one of the brands finest and we have included a few Formula 1 models of interest below. Don’t be surprised to see these flying off the shelves in 2012.
