Combining two Italian brands of world renown and coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and Gucci’s 90th anniversary, the special edition Fiat 500 by Gucci will initially be available from 1 April to 30 June 2011 exclusively by pre-order online at www.500bygucci.com.
This is in advance of the general European and Asian release in cities such as Paris, London and Tokyo scheduled for July of this year.
A wonderful combination of craftsmanship and style, the 500 by Gucci is available only in the limited colour palette of black and white. The black model with detailing in shiny chrome in sharp contrast with the white interior, evokes a contemporary and racy look while the white model with satin chrome detailing and ivory and black interior is a softer and perhaps more feminine look.
The exterior details include the retro design rims for the 195/45 R16 tires with hubcaps featuring Gucci’s double “G”. The Gucci signature in italics appears on the tailgate as well as the door post and the signature Gucci green-red-green stripe runs along the entire perimeter and also appears on the seats, gearbox, key cover, mats and seat belts.
To complete your Fiat 500 by Gucci experience, a veritable cornucopia of merchandise is available including travel accessories, small leather goods, tracksuits, bombers, driving gloves, glasses and even a watch is available in select Gucci stores and online at www.gucci.com. The only question left for me given the current climate of collaboration is, can the Burberry Mini Cooper be far behind?
