John Lobb Warwick In Black At Leather Soul

John Lobb Warwick
Apparently the result of material rationing during the Second World War, the austerity brogue kept the style of the full brogue shoe but said goodbye to the perforations.

The reasoning seems to be that the punched piece of leather needed a finished leather backing which resulted in two pieces of material being used. The austerity brogue without any perforations eliminated this. Because the resulting style was both sleek and decorative and doesn’t actually look like a compromise, the austerity brogue survived.

The fine example is the Warwick from John Lobb which can also be ordered in the USA from Leather Soul.
