Swiss, Automatic and Affordable?

Yes it’s true, the relaunch of the 1957 Tissot Visodate priced at between $650-695 USD is an excellent opportunity for those looking for an entry level Swiss automatic watch. Usually you would be hard pressed to find a timepiece with these specifications below the $1000 price point  but Tissot has made this offering truly affordable.

There are  four variation of the Tissot Visodate 1957 Automatic. Two models have stainless steel cases  (pictured in this post) and two are offered with a PVD Gilt coating . The dial is either black or silver (looks almost white), and the strap is a crocodile pattern leather with heritage buckle.

Other details include a domed sapphire crystal with a lightly curved dial, a day and date display (always appreciated), the heritage Tissot logo and a  40mm case which houses the  ETA 2836-2 movement (with a power reserve of 42 hours).

All in all, this updated re-issue has been timed very well with the current trend towards slimmer fitted suits ans narrow ties all reminiscent of the Mad Men era. Why not complete the outfit with a watch which embodies the same classic style?
